Today being a Wednesday means a late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. Got my water moved and changed w/o much problem. I had a FSA meeting at 9:30 this morning - they give me money so they want to keep track of what I am farming and haying. It is a pain in butt, they have these terrible black & white maps that you have to try and read & figure out which is what field. No mattter how hard you squint you can't really read or tell what exactly you are looking at, then they have you sign the maps when you are done saying that it is all right & correct. Blah blah blah......
Got home from there and had to move my Handline - nothing major but takes about 45 minutes to do anyhow. It all takes time. Finished it up and went and made lunch for the kids. While they were eating I did a small workout whilst I waited for them. We then went up and had to build a wind break/shelter for our cows that are on the state lease. Had to haul a tractor up there, hand tools, wood and post to get the job done - which we did not finish up. Plan is to go back on Friday and finish it up. There used to be a dilapitated building there that got tore down over the winter. Instead of just putting a fence there, we decided to build a bit of a shelter for them. In the corrals up there we dont really have a lot of shelter or shade so this will be a bit of something for the cows to go poop in @ least.
Managed to mow the yard - my lawn mower is making a strange noise. Going to have to take the blades off and see what is going on down there. I dont think that I can ignore it thru another mowing session. I have huge yard, take about 45 minutes to mow it with a riding mower, then I try and take the push mower out and do the stuff I cant get with the riding mower. It is almost a 1/2 days work to get the lawn took care of. Somedays I like it but not all the time. The weather just barely got warm enough for me to be able to mow - I should clarify, it just barely got warm enough to dry things out enough to run the mower over the grass with out getting plugged up. Before Dinner tonight I did the rest of my workout. Check it out in the previous link from yesterday.
Moved my water this evening. I had the pleasure of having my honey come with me. It is nice to have him with me - some one to walk with, talk with, point things out too and have some help with the stuff. I had a plugged nozzle on my wheel line today, so I decided to get ambitious and go unplug it. Brought a couple tools, headed out there and the Center Pivot was just right in line with were I needed to work - I thought " It cant be that bad, I will just be a minute, I wont get that wet". I was so entirely wrong, I was drenched and freaking wet by the time I got done with my little job. To top it all off I did not even get the blockage out - so it still does not work properly. CRAP. Back at it tomorrow and bring some bigger tools. I will conquer this stupid little job. SOMEDAY.
